An Inspiring Australian Story

I felt inspired tonight to post this piece of music to my blog, not only for the beauty and haunting vocals that you will hear, but also because of the inspirational story and how it can relate to you.

One can’t help but feel inspired after listening to this incredible voice and music. What makes it even more inspiring is the fact that Geoffrey Gurrumul Yanupingu was blind at birth and after being given a toy piano by his mother at aged 3, then taught himself to play guitar at a very early age with a right handed guitar, and yet he plays it left handed.

When I hear this music and think of the obstacles and challenges that this Geoffrey faced to become a master of his craft it certainly puts things into perspective. How many people give up in their pursuit for achieving something great for themselves at the first hint of an obstacle? The answer would be most people.

If you had the passion and music in your heart like Geoffrey you would not quit, against all odds.

If you have a big ‘why’ and a burning desire to achieve your goals, you must ask yourself what are you prepared to do to make it happen? Ok. so you may not have all the tools, resources to start out how you want. Screw it… (just find a right handed guitar and learn to play it left handed).  So many people find excuses to either not pursue their goals or give up way too easily.

The most important factor of achieving whatever you want is to have a heart and the passion for what you do and why you do it.  No one will follow someone who has no passion or belief in why they do what they do.

Music is a fantastic way to connect with your inner self and engage in your true purpose and passion. I personally find this music from Geoffrey very inspirational and uplifting like I could almost walk on water and no doubt many of you will too. Regardless, whatever the inspiration you need , just stop making excuses, do whatever you have to and start pursuing your goals with passion and purpose.
